INSIGHT
What Animals do you hate?
Slugs just have no excuse to exist. Aside from that, I live and let live.
Which Hartnell era monster do you most aspire to?
The Daleks for their uncanny merchandising nouse. Those guys had the sixties sewn up.
Coffee or chocolate?
Easy. Chocolate in all its lovely forms.
Ideal job?
Writer/creator of several popular TV shows.
Have you invaded Poland?
Hang on, let me check my diary. Hmmm. No nothing there. That's a relief.
Is fast food evil?
Not inherently but if there is an alternative I try to take it. The trouble comes on Sunday afternoons in a strange town, where I confess its a handy port in a storm.
Have you ever been accused of a crime of fashion?
Frequently. See my leather jacket and white toweling socks.
Have you seen anything supernatural and / or been kidnapped by aliens?
Once felt strangely cold in a "haunted" house. Plus whilst visiting Gettysburg, both myself and my friends picked up a strange despondent vibe on the battlefields.
What is your cure for writers block?
Mostly deadlines. Aside from that, talking about the story so far with a talented friend who can look at the plot from a different angle and often see some thread which could provide a solution.
What's the worst fan fiction you have ever written?
Possibly a piece about a real life time traveller who inspires Sydney Newman to create his most famous show. Ending with the traveller dematerialising whilst saying, "...and a doctor who..." So very corny. I am ashamed.
Of all that's archived on Timelord and RF, what's the thing you're proudest of contributing?
I'll leave aside my own audios, which I'm very proud of but I waffle on about those enough on their own pages. I am only a small part of Future Investment but I'm extremely satisfied with what we all produced there. It is amazingly ambitious for a fan video with its multiple locations, large cast and extensive CGI work, and it still holds together pretty well. Of the stories, We Have All the Time in the World flowered into something rather special, from the humblest of beginnings and the writing styles of all the contributors complemented each other rather wonderfully. Wings over Colleth is the only RF I've started and I'm rather pleased with how other authors ran with it and turned it into a fine adventure.
What happened in the year you were fourteen?
I'm afraid I can't think of anything in school or my home that specifically happened that year without going to look it up. And if I have to look it up it couldn't be that important.
If you could be any age again, what would it be?
It would be fun to be eighteen again, knowing what I know now and try to live my life better than I did. But I guess I'll just have to work with what I've got :)
If you could visit any moment in history what would it be?
That's a very hard question. There are mysteries like the Great Siberian Explosion which it would be fun to solve. Or maybe seeing The Importance of Being Earnest or Hamlet performed for the first time? Or perhaps one of the great pharohs being sealed in his pyramid?
What crossover story should never be made... ever?
Doctor Who Goes To Eurotrash
If you ruled the world, who would be first against the wall?
Can't answer that one.
What would your entry in the Encyclopaedia Galactica say about you?
Nice but dim.
Borg or Cybermen?
Cybermen every time. Until Silver Nemesis they never sold out. They remain nightmares of science.
If you were a Doctor Who Title which one would you be?
An Unearthly Child
Should any Twin Peaks fans who survived the purge be arrested?
Absolutely not! They should be venerated for the people of great taste and intelligence which they are.
Which missing Who story would you most like to be refound?
Marco Polo. Intelligent, ambitious and a very rich drama.
Who would play you in a cheap BBC drama about your life?
Bill Baily
Computer games?
Lost touch with computer games after the demise of the N64. Goldeneye and Legend of Zelda were very inspirational at the time.
What would you like on your epitaph?
Left the world a bit better than it was.
PG or 18?
PG most of the time I feel.
Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori?
No.
Have you ever been, or are you now, a member of a Communist organisation?
It saddens me that I must remind this board of the American constitution...
(That's not the question. That's not the question.)
I have to call upon the Fifth.
(Answer the question. Yes or no.)
I am unable...
(Security!)(At this point I was dragged from the room, blacklisted, but became a hero to right-thinking people everywhere, especially curvy blond and brunette ones. Ah well, it's a thought.)
What is the best word?
"Anachronism"
When did you first get involved with this online group?
Back in the days of the Yahoo club page. What a wild, productive time that was! The wit! The fights! The drugs! (okay I lied about the drugs)
Half-empty or half-full?
Half-full.
