What do you do when you're unplugged:

I'm a career librarian, which probably says it all! These days I tend to confine social interaction to work and family – people do tend to frustrate & depress me quickly, so I keep myself to myself and let others be as others are.

Coffee. Proper coffee, not that decaf nonsense.

I like what I’m doing now, but if I could choose any other... script editor for the new series.

Too far, too cold.

Go round it and write something else.

Most of the Cool Kids of Time series makes me cringe.

What happened in the year you were fourteen?

Peter Davison was the Doctor, and I’m fairly certain Wolves were relegated. Again.

What crossover story should never be made... ever?

Well, if used right, the presence of the Doctor should make any story work, but if pressed, I’d have to say Buffy.

Extremists of any persuasion. And people who are cruel to animals.

Cybermen, easily. The Borg were ruined when they tried to make them into characters.

On PC, Championship Manager and Jagged Alliance 2. Before that I was hopelessly addicted to my old ZX Spectrum. Mmmm, Maziacs...

I'm definitely in favour of dulce and decorum, but human nature requires that we kick the crap out of each other, usually for no good reason. But that’s human nature for you.

Communism is a waste of time. Soviet Russia and Fidel Castro proved it.

The Sweeney. I like my heroes flawed and human. Or at least half-human.

Again, lots, depending on my mood. But I’d probably say my favourite single is 'Gangsters' by the Specials.

What's the best sport?

Cricket. Football has lost a lot of its flavour recently.

Favourite kiddies programmes when you were young

Apart from Dr Who? I used to cut short a lot of summer afternoons for things like Scooby Doo, Valley of the Dinosaurs, Screen Test, and Clapperboard. Junk like Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea and Time Tunnel used to float my boat at the time too.
