UNPLUGGED

What do you like?

Too many things. I guess I had better quantify that. I guess I'm a bit of a fan of creative things, I can easily go away and bury myself in things like digital art, sound design/musical composition/fx, digital photography, sketching/drawing/painting/artwork, writing (scripts, poetry, short stories, technical articles), posting on the internet, most sports (but less opportunity to partake in them at the moment I guess), reading, human psychology, satire, going out and about with friends, swimming, indoor archery, used to play volleyball a lot, movies, scifi (not startrek), historical films / series, romantic comedies, comedies, some action movies, theatre/performing arts/stage shows, cooking, webdesign / webprogramming / programming / scripting / dsp, tweaking electronics, fixing things I can myself. There's more.

What do you dislike?

Quite a few things. Rather not quantify those though.

What do you do when you're unplugged:

Occupation: I guess I'll opt with the title "IT Professional" at this point in time (I'll have some letters soon).

I guess you could say I volunteer help and advice I guess! My Voice has been donated to a number of small productions about the place at the very least.

At times it varies in what I do. When studying things have gotten rather hectic at times, and spare time means things like it's midnight what can I do now? Answer: Post on the Internet, chat on the Internet, spend time working on sound design / synthesis / music composition / teaching myself about the previous. Designing things/writing articles, poems, looking at other people's work, picking apart recordings. I don't watch lots of television, most it is pretty terrible, I'd rather indulge in more creative things or reading or going out. Teasing my friends is probably another favourite pastime, playing cards, going to the movies etc. Exercising is good, and getting more fun for me. I like to read books, variety I guess, like to follow IT related things, programming, trends, not so much gear (I don't drool over cpu/processor figures) etc. Network administration is one thing I seem to spend more time on at times. Work on my various web sites.

I love to travel if and when I get the opportunity to.

INSIGHT

What Animals do you hate?

I hate animals? I guess the sorts that bite and kill you aren't so high on my list of things I'd like to keep around the home. Redback spiders are a real problem here I guess. They don't belong here either.

Which Hartnell era monster do you most aspire to?

I might well be one of those, some days of the week.

Coffee or chocolate?

Can't a man have both these days? Tend to indulge in neither most of the time. Caffeine is in too many things these days, I'd rather have a working mind than join the week in week out coffee zombies. Life is not a long dull caffeine hit.

Ideal job?

That's a very difficult question. I'm a very creative person by nature, I like to manage things/people, I like to come up with all kinds of strategies and so forth, I like to be ordered around a little, I quite like Information Systems related things (hence my bach IT (Info Sys)), building abstract models of real life phenomena, creativity, art, design, analysis, programming... Maybe I ask too much ;)

Have you invaded Poland?

No, but I've heard of people who aspire.

Is fast food evil?

This is a difficult question. If you infer that "fast food" means full of things that aren't good for you the answer will obviously differ. I think for a lot of people it's far too tempting to just get whatever's easy to get hold of. At least in my last year or so of university healthier alternatives to soft drink and fattening snack food became easier to get at. It's always hard to eat/drink well when the only place open in the evenings is a vending machine I guess.

What makes fast food evil in a way is when things are added to perfectly nice tasting things in order to cause the consumer to want to buy more I guess. Fast food which has everything in it other than what it's supposed to is very evil.

Have you ever been accused of a crime of fashion?

No. I don't think I own anything that'd cause that kind of accusation to arise.

Have you seen anything supernatural and / or been kidnapped by aliens?

Are you trying to suggest I'm nuts?

What is your cure for writers block?

Tend not to suffer from that personally. I do find however some of my best work has been done when I'm very stressed out and things aren't going right. I guess I'm a bit of a fan of writing things whilst doing other things.

What's the worst fan fiction you have ever written?

I haven't written it yet. When I do it will be Kenny's!

Of all that's archived on Timelord and RF, what's the thing you're proudest of contributing?

Um.....

What happened in the year you were fourteen?

Junior school mostly. Drought.

If you could be any age again, what would it be?

Not this one probably. Years pre 12 always seem to look better. But that's an illusion, related to state of well being when answering such questions.

If you could visit any moment in history what would it be?

The past is somewhere to visit in your head. I have no wish to be around at pivotal moments and places in history. Given that most of the ones people romanticize about tend to be pretty awful in actuality.

What crossover story should never be made... ever?

StarTrek: The Daleks vs The Cybermen vs The Borg with the original ST cast.

If you ruled the world, who would be first against the wall?

I probably can't list their names here. I tend not to go through life hating people, bit of a waste of time. But sometimes there are exceptions, though it seems those sorts of people dig their own holes. I need not move where the hand of the world does so for me.

What would your entry in the Encyclopaedia Galactica say about you?

Saner than most.

Borg or Cybermen?

Cybermen.

If you were a Doctor Who Title which one would you be?

The Curse of Fenric.

Should any Twin Peaks fans who survived the purge be arrested?

Purge!!!

Which missing Who story would you most like to be refound?

Tough question. It'd be easier to choose ones I'd like to disappear! Something from the Troughton years I guess, say The Web of Fear (to return that is).

Who would play you in a cheap BBC drama about your life?

Some horrible B movie actor if I'm lucky.

Computer games?

What are they?

What would you like on your epitaph?

Despite everything he managed to prevail.

PG or 18?

Isn't that a question for the censorship board? I can't say I go for a film or game etc due to its adult rating.

Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori?

Remove the dying part and we may have a deal.

Have you ever been, or are you now, a member of a Communist organisation?

No. And don't ask me what I think of the Green party either.

What is the best word?

I don't think I really think there is one. There are plenty of annoying ones people use to show off though. English is full of such wonderful words that are applicable in many odd and wonderful ways.

When did you first get involved with this online group?

Way back when the Earth was green and dinosaurs ruled the world, there was a club, it was called YaWho. It was mostly Kevin's Fault!

Half-empty or half-full?

Depends on the context of the question perhaps and your proximity to the glass in life. If you're looking up or down on the cup and how close you are to it. The closer you are the fuller it's likely to seem.

LISTS

Top 3 favourite films

I'm really not sure, I tend to like lots and not choose any in particular. I don't see the need to compare apples with oranges either.

Least favourite film

Armageddon (seen it too many times, not by choice).

What's the best other TV show?

There are other TV shows???

Favourite piece of music

That's a very hard thing for me. I like too many songs, instrumentals as well. If we're talking cinema score I might go with something from Vangelis, the rest are much too difficult.

What's the best sport?

Depends on what you're looking for in a sport. If you're looking for lots of fun competing with people or not to in a way I guess. For solitary I think swimming is great (and I'm calling it a sport so there), volleyball is great fun, so are things like grass hockey and cricket. People at this end of the world would expect me to say Rugby, AFL, union etc, No!

Favourite kiddies programmes when you were young

Oh lots, Bananaman, Victor & Hugo, SuperTed, The Magic Roundabout, Astroboy, Jimbo the Jetset, Transformers (The Original series), Thundercats, Voltron, Vicky the Viking, David the Gnome, The Smurfs, The Twins of Destiny, Dangermouse, The City of Gold, The Goodies (Channel 7 pitched them at children, so did the ABC), the original series of Spellbinder, Under the Mountain, Alien's in the family, Gadget, Ducktails, The Mouse Factory, WB/Looney Toons, Pinky & The Brain a few others I guess! Oh right yes, um Doctor Who?
